Hmm, were to start....

A long time ago in a galaxy far away...Oh wait.... Let’s try this again...

Kinja'd!!!

My last Oppost was the conclusion of the Adventurevette series as well as some updates on 2 Mustangs I was working on and working to sell. Here is the quick update of said vehicles:

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (nearly broke even after trip and repair expenses!!!)

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! - SOLD after being repaired...again!

Kinja'd!!!

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! - New owner LOOOOVES it! (made a small profit on the deal)

Kinja'd!!!

Ok so those 3 cars were fully intended to be sold so no surprises there but my core vehicular collection was needing a change. You see I loved the 2000 GT as it has great looks, V8 sound and torque, and was fun to drive but.....it really wasn’t that comfortable as the seats were not supportive and the springs were just too damn firm. At the same time I owned a 2008 Focus that had all options and was comfortable, had nice accessories, and was economical but I had just become bored with as I had owned the car for 7 years and put over 120K on it myself. It was time for change and I wanted to combine the 2 cars the best I could with something affordable, simple to work on, had 4 doors, RWD, comfy, and preferably with a V8. Not many options here without spending a bunch of money. G8 GT - too spensive! Newer Charger - not within my budget for any V8 options beyond a mega base car. I thought about a sweet IS300 but just couldn’t justify one as I really did want a V8. Not many options out there until you remember the ever awesome Panther platform cars!!

I have always liked Crown Vics but wanted something a bit more dressed up in the form of interior. I LOVE the Mercury Marauders as they have a 32V DOCH 4.6 as well as a split console interior, air ride in the rear, and some other trim/suspension extras but these just hold their value much more than a regular old Vic. I really didn’t NEED the DOCH 4.6 so I started doing some Crown Vic/Grand Marquis research to see what my options were. Come to find out there is a package called the “LX Sport” which was EXACTLY what I was after! The LX Sport cars received the full Marauder suspension such as air ride/misc aluminum suspension components, brake upgrades, 3.27 rear gear, and BEST of all...the split console floor shift interior! After some intense searching I found my baby at a dealer in Chicago. I worked a deal over the phone and booked a flight out. Here she is as I picked her up:

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

2005 Crown Vic LX Sport in great shape. New wheels and tires, charcoal leather interior, 138K on the clock. A bit more miles than my desired cap but the car was clean and well maintained. The deal was done and this baby just destroyed the highway all 5 hours home! Seriously, why have I not owned one of these until now!?

Now as I am unable to leave anything alone I do have some plans for this car. A-tint windows. B - New wheels and tires. C - Lower a scosche. D - exhaust E - Profit! So far A and B have been accomplished so here is the result:

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

18" 2008 Mustang GT wheels to replace the 17"s that were on it. 20% tint all around. Big improvement! (No pic with the tint but just imagine darker windows)

For now the car is great and no changes are needing to be made so I am just enjoying it until I have some extra time on a weekend to weld on some mufflers I have for it. Beyond that a simple drop spring up front and and adjustment to the air ride in the rear will complete the car in the future. Seriously, go buy a panther car.

Now, another big reason for slimming down my 4 wheeled vehicle fleet was to free up some cash and go to work for myself. the dealer I was working for shut down putting me out of the job. I just couldn’t seem to find a job I liked for a boss I liked so I decided it was now or never to do my own thing.

My latest venture is known as Brick House Builds LLC! I build custom motorcycles and attempt to sell them for profit. I do this out of my garage housed within...you guessed it...a brick house. I focus on pre-1984 Japanese bikes to turn into cafe racers, trackers, bobbers, brats, and anything else that fits the bill. I am just getting this rolling but have finished my first official build of a 1982 Kawasaki KZ750. I have done other bikes for myself as well as my friends but this is the first that is build specifically to sell. It came out great! (bottom pic as I bought it)

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

This is just 1 of about 10 bikes in my garage currently. Many to come for those interested. If you want to follow me on social media you can search Brick House Builds on either Facebook or Instagram. I keep both updated constantly.

Kinja'd!!!

Anyway, that is an update on my life. I hope you all enjoyed and check out what I’m doing on IG and FB! Also, go buy a Panther.

Nope, not buying a Panther. Though I do like the Marauder.

I’ll maybe buy a B-body though...

Both good choices. The Marauder is hard not to like with what it offers.

Great looking bike, and good luck on your business, you’re doing exactly what I would love to do, I just don’t have the money/space/skill at the moment, I want to build/restore bikes of all kinds and 3 wheelers. My current prove to myself I can do this bike, a ‘78 XS750, has been on the back burner for a while, hopefully I can get back to it soon.

oh man I’m dying to get my hands on a Yama triple! Speaking of 3 wheelers I am building a Honda CX500 motorcycle and my inspiration is actually a Honda 250R ATC. It will be so 80s lol!

They’re a really fun and unique bike, I’ve had a couple friends who’ve had them and that engine just has a lot of character, at that sound... I’m going to have a tough time selling mine once I get it finished.

Post pictures of that CX500 when it’s done, I’d love to see it!

I was up half the night day dreaming about another bike build, I wan’t to build a really 70's style chopper trike, a big thumper power plant, with a big king and queen seat, long raked out front end, old and ragged looking, yet I want it to be somewhat modern, an OHC liquid cooled engine would be cool, and an independent rear suspension setup, with a trick brake setup that works in conjunction with the handle bars that allows me to brake the inside wheel during a turn at full lock, basically allowing the trike to pivot around that wheel, kinda like a tractor does, eliminating a lot of the issues of having such a long raked out front end. Being a gear-head engineer is a much a blessing as it is a curse haha.

The rear is easy. Just move the right height sensor up and the car will sit lower. The front is where it takes more effort. Cut the springs? Buy lowering springs? I can’t decide how to approach it.

Congrats on the new venture!

I rebuild pre 80 Japanese bikes as well and have something like 12 on the property in various states. I just do it as a hobby as I have a well paying day job. I’ve always dreamed of doing it for a living, but am planning that for retirement.

Where are you located? If your nearby I’d love to stop by and see your shop.

Love the Kawa. What did you paint the mufflers with? I welded mine to the pipes, then realized that the assembly wouldn’t fit in my powder coat oven. And did you paint the rear shocks/springs, or put new ones on?

Very cool man! If love to see your work. I have about 12 bikes in the garage as well in various states. I’m located an hour north of St. Louis in the middle of a country town. You?

I bought the mufflers like that from dime city. I kept them easily removable as the bike looks and sounds good without them as well. The rear shocks are actually faux as I shortened anxiety welded them internally. It is a hardtail with a sprung look! I did paint them.

Hell- you’re practically my neighbor on oppo, I live about 30 minutes south of st louis. Where at north of stl are you?

I just got my 79 gl1000 running and have ridden it to work the last few days. It’s not pretty and has a few things still that need to be fixed but it gets me to and from work in downtown stl.

I’m in Bowling Green. It’s a small farming town between Troy and Hannibal. We recently got a taco Bell so we’re kind of a big deal now.

Where are you selling your bikes? There can’t be much of a market up there. I’m pretty familiar with the area, I used to deer hunt a bit north of Troy and had a friend who lived in Louisiana for a few years.

Why don’t you hit me up via email, I’d love to come up and see your shop.
